Amelia van Ewijk
Amelia joined the firm in 2020 as a graduate. She assists our senior team in the areas of corporate governance and compliance, advising Local Aboriginal Land Councils in relation to land dealings, development, and property disputes.
Before joining Chalk & Behrendt, Amelia gained invaluable experience as the tipstaff to the Hon. Justice Rachel Pepper of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales. Amelia has also worked for a large consultancy firm as an environmental planner where she assisted clients with the environmental impact assessment and development approvals process for a range of projects.
During her degree, Amelia completed an internship with the Kimberley Community Legal Service (KCLS) during the 2017 WA Coronial Inquest into Aboriginal Youth Suicide. After the inquest, she continued to volunteer with KCLS remotely until 2019.
